Our Advanced Platinum Silicone

WHAT IS ADVANCED PLATINUM SILICONE?

Pure, clean, and soft-to-touch advanced platinum silicone offers benefits far and above the standard silicone often used. The way platinum silicone is cured means it contains no fillers, or contaminants, as well as being non-allergenic, free of BPA (Bisphenol A), BPS (Bisphenol S), lead, phthalate, and other chemical substances. Making it the safest choice for your baby feeding products. Yooforea uses 100% platinum silicone in our products, without any fillers, by-products, or contaminants. To ensure the highest level of safety, we insist on meeting and exceeding the US safety standards as established in the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) and FDA (Food and Drugs Administration) and LFGB (German Food and Commodities Act) certified, the strictest certification process around the globe.

Why We Choose Platinum Silicone.

Pure and Clean: No fillers, by-products, and contaminants.

Safe and Reliable: Meets or exceeds the regulatory requirements and safety
standards.

Temperature fluctuation: Maintains its structure throughout a wide range of temperatures, such as refrigeration, oven, microwave and frequent dishwashing or sterilization.

Easy to clean: Easy to hand wash with warm soapy water or throw it in the dishwasher.

Soft touch and comfort: Create a sensory link between the mother and a new object.

Durable: It can significantly withstand aging, deformation, temperature changes and colour
fading.

Appliances safe: Exceptionally convenient, being dishwasher safe, microwave and oven safe up to 230°C/ 446°F and freezer safe

Platinum cured vs. Peroxide cured

In fact, not all silicones are created equally. In terms of curing methods, silicone is
cured with either peroxide or platinum. Medical-grade silicones are cured with platinum, which is what Yooforea uses. Since most FDA (Food and Drugs Administration) approved silicones are peroxide cured, we ensure that our silicone is also LFGB (German Food and Commodities Act) certified.

Safety First As Always

Let’s dive deeper into how silicone products are made. Silicone starts out as a
liquid soft gel, and once moulded into shapes, silicone must be cured or hardened to remain solid. Post-curing is often required and necessary to help reduce toxic by-products from some peroxide-cured silicones and, generally, improves the physical characteristics of both peroxide-cured and platinum-cured silicones.

Post-curing involves a secondary cure of the silicone, where the materials are heated in an oven at a given temperature for a certain amount of time. While there are many variations in temperature and time, the three most common combinations seem to be 2 hours at 177 °C, 2 hours at 200 °C and 4 hours at 200 °C. We insist on post-cure our products at 4 hours at 200 °C, while the industry safety standards are usually at 2 hours at 200 °C. The adequate high temperature would eliminate residues, odours, and toxins so that you can feel assured in the safety and purity of your baby supplies.

Beyond Industry standards

Industry Standards

2 hours at 200 °C to help reduce residues, odors, and toxins.

Yooforea Standards

4 hours at 200 °C to achieve completely odourless, eliminate possible residues and toxins and improve overall physical characteristics.

Permanently improved silicone properties

UV Treatment

Silicone has a natural characteristic of stickiness, making it easy to get stained with foods with intense colour or consistency like tomato sauce and carrot puree, and also to absorb a soapy smell after washing in the dishwasher. UV treatment is a solution that allows the production of permanently improved silicone properties with smooth and non-sticky surfaces. The process involves converting silicones through irradiation with Ultraviolet to a silicon-inorganic material and forming a thin protective layer on the product surface without requiring an additional coating.

Benefits of UV Treatment

+ Smooth and non-sticky surface

+ Stain resistance

+ Less likely for dust and dirt to stick

+ Less likely for food to stain

+ No soapy smell after wash

+ Easy to clean as foods wash off easily

+ Increased durability
